Each person is different, so the wheelchair should be fit specifically to that person. A set of design objectives is determined which will enable a person with a disability to have as much mobility as possible. Attention is also given to the capabilities of the wheelchair users parents and caregivers, who will be responsible for fitting the wheelchair as well as maintaining the proper fit as the wheelchair user grows or their needs change. A wheelchair should do much more than merely help them get from place to place, it should help them function to their maximum potential at home, at work, in school, in the outdoor environment and wherever else they may be.
